Fiction editing for authors and publishers

Hello, I’m Louise and I’m an experienced fiction editor. I provide different levels of editorial services for independent authors at all stages of their writing careers. I work with trade publishers too, and I’ve recently edited material for Bloomsbury Publishing, Titan Books, Allison & Busby and Head of Zeus.

If you want the best for your book and for your readers, editing is a necessary step in the publishing process. For a lot of new and emerging authors the prospect of publishing your book by yourself can be scary. But it needn’t be if you can find the right help and the right editor who clicks with you and your story.

I understand how much time, energy and emotion it takes to write a novel. I know you’ve spent hours, days, maybe even years working away at your story. You’ve brought your characters to life and painstakingly built your fictional world. You’ve made sacrifices, and this is not something to be taken lightly.

I’ll be an advocate of your book: I’ll celebrate the parts that work well and help you identify the areas you can make better. I’ll support you on your journey to publication.

I believe that no matter where you are on your writing journey – a beginning author just starting out, or a more experienced author with a series of novels behind you – every project deserves to be treated with sensitivity, honesty and respect.

Do you dream of your readers stepping into your fictional world and becoming so utterly absorbed that they’re reluctant to drag themselves back to reality?

Well, you can achieve just that. With your storytelling skills and the help of sensitive and thorough editing, you can publish that standout novel.

So, take your time and have a look around and at the end of your visit I really hope you’d like to work with me.

“Friendly and helpful service. It was especially nice to have a bit of feedback about my writing and the appropriateness to the target market, even though this was not expected.” – J Russell-Roberts, children’s author
